After-work sport in Bangkok: where to play when the office closes
Bangkok's evenings are the best time to play. How to fit sport into a working week, and where to find courts that stay open late.
In Bangkok the best time to play is often after dark. The sun is down, the air is a little cooler and the traffic has eased. For many people, an evening game is the easiest way to fit sport into a working week.
Racket sports work especially well after work. A padel or pickleball session takes about an hour and a half, you only need three friends (or none, if you join an open game), and your kit fits in a bag you bring from home in the morning.
Plenty of Bangkok courts stay open well into the night. Bangkok Padel Community keeps a list of late-night padel courts, and if rain or heat is a worry, its guide to indoor and covered courts shows where you can play whatever the weather.
Our tip: book the same slot every week. A regular game becomes a habit, and a habit is what keeps you playing.
